how we got here

For years, Sacramento Democrats, led by Governor Gavin Newsom, have prioritized political power over the will of the people.

In August, they rammed through the biggest power grab yet. Prop 50. A unilateral decision to redraw Congressional maps, eliminate five Republican districts, & strengthen Democrat held seats.

Under Newsom’s watch, the Democratic supermajority rammed through this mid-decade redistricting scheme in a matter of days, bypassing meaningful public input and ignoring the independent redistricting process that Californians fought to establish.

In the Elections Committee, I was shouted down, laughed at, and ultimately silenced by the Chair. Why? Simply for asking these basic questions:

  • Who drew the maps?

  • How much will this cost taxpayers?

  • How does this help Valley families?

Whats at stake for the valley?

PROP 50 IS A POWER GRAB. PUT SIMPLY, IF THIS INITIATIVE PASSES ON NOVEMBER 4TH, WE RISK LOSING CONGRESSMAN VALADAO AND NOT BEING ABLE TO RETAKE CD-13 OR CD-21; TWO OF THE BEST PICKUP OPTIONS FOR REPUBLICANS IN THE COUNTRY.

LET’S LOOK AT THE NUMBERS.

IT WON’T END HERE

HISTORY’S OLDEST LESSON IS WHEN POWER IS TAKEN BY THE GOVERNMENT, IT IS NEVER RETURNED. POWER CORRUPTS. AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.

MARK MY WORDS. IF PROP 50 PASSES AND CONTROL OF REDISTRICTING IS HELD BY THE LEGISLATURE, DEMOCRATS WILL COME BACK FOR THE REMAINING REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS AND WILL THEN SET THEIR SIGHTS ON ELIMINATING THE COMMISSION’S AUTHORITY OVER LEGISLATIVE MAPS.

GOVERNOR NEWSOM AND THE LEGISLATURE WANT ABSOLUTE CONTROL AND A PERMANENT SUPER-MAJORITY.
